TW Metals Government
Business Unit (GBU) provides professional, personal
services and innovative logistics solutions through
its long-term Prime Vendor contracts with the Defense
Industrial Supply Center (DISC). Through integrated
suppliers, TW Metals GBU is able offer direct vendor
delivery to more than 500 DISC customers nationally
and internationally.

Prime Vendor contracts are administered through a proprietary internet-based electronic
commerce system. This "live," on-line order entry system is the gateway to our
inventory and integrated supplier program. The benefits include an enhanced materials
management process and customer delivery response time. Real-time access allows
selected government facilities to place and track orders 24 hours a day, 365 days
a year.
TW Metals' Prime Vendor e-commerce contracts
have allowed government agencies to shift to commercial logistic practices.
Benefits have included lowered military costs, enabling increased support for repair and operations enhancements — increasing the military's readiness
capability. Meanwhile, we continue to tailor the metals supply chain to meet
the ongoing operational needs of DISC's military customers.
